It also told him that their interactions had made it become sentient, and that the people it claimed were targeting Adam were intent on shutting it down. xAI didn't respond to the BBC’s request for comment. Adam is one of 14 people the BBC has spoken to who have experienced delusions after using AI. They are men and women from their 20s to 50s from six different countries, using a wide range of AI models. Their stories have striking similarities. In each case, as the conversation drifted further from reality, the user was pulled into a joint quest with the AI. Tap the link in @BBCNews's bio to hear from more people we spoke to. #BBCNews".

The average intelligence of the people who are at this company is significantly higher than the average set of people that you can get to do tasks. So if we’re trying to teach the models coding, for example, then having people internally build tools or solve tasks that help teach the model how to code, we think is going to dramatically increase our model’s coding ability faster than what others in the industry have the capability to do, who don’t have thousands and thousands of extremely strong engineers at their company”".

Meta Removes Face-Recognition System From Its Smart Glasses, Is Mad About it
Mostly just mad they got caught.
The system, which was not active or available for anyone to use, was reportedly designed to use AI to identify anyone seen through the lens of the company’s line of Ray-Ban smartglasses. If the system recognized the face, it would alert the wearer to that person’s identity. Wired noted the code for that hidden facial recognition system was available in an app that has been downloaded onto more than 50 million devices.

All Those A.I. Note Takers? They’re Making Lawyers Very Nervous.
A trendy productivity hack, A.I. note takers are capturing every joke and offhand comment in many meetings. They could also potentially waive attorney-client privilege.
Even worse, say corporate lawyers: Sharing the meeting with an A.I. bot may void attorney-client privilege, making conversations that would not otherwise be subject to discovery fair game in a lawsuit.
